He ranks as the fourth highest Test run scorer for England. He ties with Alastair Cook in most centuries by an England Test player. His highest score is an unbeaten 246. He is also part of 48 hundred-run partnerships, which is the most for any England player. In 1977, he became the first England player to bat for all five days of a Test.

Sunil Gavaskar became the first person on the planet to score 10,000 runs in test cricket. He scored 35 centuries, and, is definitely one of the greatest openers of all time. Gavaskar was a classy batsman, who could hit any and every shots. In tests, he had batting average more than 50, and, in ODI, he had an average of 35. He has won several awards for his batting performances, and, the world regards him as one of the best players of fast bowling.
2. Virender Sehwag
Virender was one of the dangerous batman who played cricket. He could smash bowlers at ease, and, was a terrific opener. Hitting boundaries and sixes, were like taking singles for him.
