The US Championship is the most talked about Championship in the WWE today. Several wrestlers have held the title and have carved an ever lasting impression for themselves. The title has been established in 1975 and has been defended multiple times. It is currently hosted and defended by the SmackDown brand in WWE.

Bobby Lashley won the US Championship from none other than the Texas brawler, JBL. He defeated JBL in a match on SmackDown to win the US title for the first time in his career. He held the title for 7 weeks, before losing it to Finlay.
Lashley defended his title against several players and was one of the best US Champions the WWE Universe has witnessed. He was the people's champion and was loved by the crowd. Despite holding the title for 49 days, the WWE Universe will remember his reigns always.
4. Matt Hardy
Matt Hardy created history, when he became the first wrestler to enter the ECW brand as the US Champion. He won the title from one of the US Champions MVP. Even though they both were tag team partners, they competed against each other for the US Championship.
Hardy won the Championship at the Backlash PPV in 2008. He held the title for 12 weeks before finally losing it to Shelton Benjamin. He was a Champion who brought lot of limelight to the title. Hardy was a champion who did anything and everything to defend the title.
3. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy is perhaps the most 'extreme' US Champion in the history of WWE. He has taken every possible risks to make the title look glorious. He never hesitated to take the extra step to defend his title. Hardy won the title from the 'modern day maharaja' Jinder Mahal. He lost the title to Shinsuke Nakamura.
When Hardy won the US title, he also became the 18th triple crown Champion and the 19th grand slam Champion. He lost the title as Nakamura used underhand tactics against him. Despite that, he was one of the most loved Champions of all time.
2. Big Show
Big Show is perhaps the biggest and the heaviest wrestler to have ever won the title. He held the title for 147 days. Show won the title from the legendary Eddie Guerrero and lost it to John Cena at WrestleMania 20.
Big Show never failed to impress the crowd and was always appreciated for hus efforts to make the title look impressive. He could be given one last run as the US Champion by the WWE management before he retires.
1. Dean Ambrose
Ambrose is perhaps the most 'lunatic' Champion in all of sports entertainment. He won the title against Kofi Kingston and held the title for 50 weeks. Ambrose entertained the WWE Universe and was one of the best US Champions of all time. He lost the title to Sheamus but was always remembered as the guy who loved to fight.He is currently out of action owing to injury and should compete against Nakamura for the title. It would be really interesting to watch for the entire WWE Universe.
