5 WWE Superstars Who Can Make Their Wrestlemania Returns Next Year

Every year at Wrestlemania, we see Superstars of the past, present and future working together to put on an amazing show. Some people think that involving Legends and Part-timers isn't what's best for business as the time given to them could have been given to a full-time Superstar. Although such people have a point, it can't be denied that Superstars like Triple H, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker make Wrestlemania fun to watch.

As we are approaching Wrestlemania season, it's safe to say that at Wrestlemania 35, we could see some familiar faces in action. Familiar faces which we haven't seen compete at Wrestlemania for a long time. This year, Kurt Angle wrestled at Wrestlemania for the first time in over 12 years. So, here are 5 Superstars who could be making their Wrestlemania in-ring returns at Wrestlemania 35.

5. Rey Mysterio:

Rey Mysterio shocked the world when he made his return to WWE at this year's Royal Rumble. Rey's return was a one-off. However, it has been rumored that Rey Mysterio has signed a 2-year contract and is ready to make his WWE return anytime now. Rey is also expected to feud with Shinsuke Nakamura for the US title when he returns.

Mysterio is rumored to return at Smackdown 1000, scheduled to air next week. Rey Mysterio started his WWE career on Smackdown in 2002 and was a major part of Smackdown before the brand split ended in 2011. So, the logical choice would be to bring back Rey on the 1000th episode of the show that made him so successful. If Rey doesn't get injured between now and Wrestlemania, there's almost a 100% chance that Rey would be wrestling at Wrestlemania next year, for the first time in 5 years.

4. Batista:

Rey Mysterio is not the only Superstar returning to WWE after a long time at Smackdown 1000 as WWE announced a few days ago that Batista would be returning too. Now Batista's appearance will most likely be a one-off. However, he has been demanding a proper final feud and Wrestlemania match against Triple H for a long time so he could end his WWE career properly as his last 2 departures had been quite anti-climatic.

Batista's role at Smackdown 1000 is to be a part of the Evolution reunion. This segment could tease a future feud and match for Batista, most likely against Triple H, at Wrestlemania 35. However, there's a slight issue. The untitled sequel of Avengers Infinity War would be releasing in the last week of April or the first week of May and Batista could be busy in doing the promotional work for the film. However, appearing at Wrestlemania and on a few episodes of Raw leading up to the event could still be possible for Batista if Marvel allows him.

3. Goldberg:

Goldberg made his WWE return in 2016, after staying away for over 12 years. Goldberg feuded with Brock Lesnar during his second run. The feud culminated in a match at Wrestlemania 33, which Lesnar ended up winning. Goldberg made one final appearance on the Raw after Wrestlemania 33, and he hinted at a possible WWE return down the line.

Now that Goldberg and WWE are on good terms again, it's safe to say that bringing Goldberg back wouldn't be an impossible task for WWE. Even Goldberg has said it himself that bringing him back for a third run wouldn't be as difficult as it was to convince him to return for a second run in 2016/2017. Goldberg has expressed his interest in facing either Roman Reigns and The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. There are a few Wrestlemania plans already in place for Roman Reigns but if The Undertaker's feud with D-Generation X ends before Wrestlemania, we could see The Undertaker go one on one against Goldberg and that would be a fight you wouldn't want to miss.

2. Shawn Michaels:

It's almost confirmed that Shawn Michaels would be coming out of retirement for not just one, but multiple matches. Michaels is currently rumored to team up with his long-time friend, Triple H to take on Kane and The Undertaker at WWE Crown Jewel on November 02, 2018. Michaels is then rumored to continue his feud with The Undertaker, culminating in a singles match between the two down the line.

Michaels is rumored to have matches against The Undertaker, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and an NXT Superstar. With so much being talked about already, it's safe to assume that Shawn Michaels would be having a match at Wrestlemania next year, for the first time in 9 years. Now, he would either face The Undertaker if they don't end up facing each other at Survivor Series 2018 or most likely AJ Styles or Kevin Owens. All three matches mentioned here have the potential to be show-stealing matches.

1. The Rock:

As it was mentioned above that there are some Wrestlemania plans already in place for Roman Reigns. According to one of these plans, Roman Reigns would hold on to the Universal Championship at least until Wrestlemania 35 where he would face the winner of the Royal Rumble match for the Universal Championship. Already being rumored to win the Royal Rumble match is none other than The Rock.

The Rock suffered critical injuries during his match against John Cena at Wrestlemania 29 and was then advised to stay away from in-ring action as his injuries in 2013 resulted in multi-million dollar projects being put on hold. Ever since then, he has appeared at 3 Wrestlemania events and has even faced Erick Rowan in a singles match. However, the match lasted only six seconds. If The Rock could find a way to work safe and still put on an entertaining match, we could see him in a match at Wrestlemania 35.
