New Orleans Pelicans Are On the Verge of Losing Anthony Davis
The New Orleans Pelicans may lose Anthony Davis if they keep nonperforming. Should Pelican fans be worried?
The Colorado Rockies defeated the Chicago Cubs 2-1, in 13 innings on Tuesday night in the National League Wild Card Game. The New York Yankees defeated the Oakland Athletics 7-2 on Wednesday night in the American League Wild Card Game.
With both of those games in the rear view mirror, the National League Divisional Series will begin on Thursday afternoon and the American League Division Series will begin on Friday afternoon. There are only eight teams remaining in the MLB postseason. This series is only a best of five and who will win each series?
NL: (5) Colorado Rockies vs (1) Milwaukee Brewers: This series has the potential to be a lot of fun. Both teams have offensive power from top to bottom. The Colorado Rockies have key players like Trevor Story, Nolan Arenado, D.J. LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon, and Carlos Gonzales. The Milwaukee Brewers have key players like Christian Yelech, Jonathan Schoop, Mike Moustakas, Jesus Aguilar, and Travis Shaw. Both teams have solid bullpens. The starting pitching could be shaky on both ends in this series. The difference in this series will be that the Milwaukee Brewers have home field advantage and the Colorado Rockies do not. The pick: Milwaukee in 5.
(3) Atlanta Braves vs (2) Los Angeles Dodgers: It is quite possible the Atlanta Braves could win Game 1 with Mike Foltynewicz pitching and with the Dodgers having Hyun-Jin Ryu pitch. After that, the Dodgers will most likely ride with Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler for games 2 and 3. Atlanta will show energy early on with its young talent, but it will quickly dwindle. At the end of the day, the Los Angeles Dodgers have more playoff experience and a better roster. The pick: Los Angeles in 4.
AL: (4) New York Yankees vs (1) Boston Red Sox: This is the most heated rivalry in baseball and this will be the first time since 2004 that these two teams will meet in the playoffs. New York blew a 3-0 lead that year and they won't be able to this time. Both teams have loaded line ups. Both teams have very good bullpens but at the end of the day, it comes down to starting pitching and the Boston Red Sox have the better starting rotation. The pick: Boston in 5.
(3) Cleveland Indians vs (2) Houston Astros: Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona is rolling the dice once again with a three-man rotation and he is going to get burned once again. Not starting Trevor Bauer is going to cost him dearly. Corey Kluber is a good regular season pitcher, but he has been terrible in his last three postseason starts. The Houston Astros have one of the best lineups in baseball. They are on a mission to repeat and they have the best starting rotation in baseball. Houston can beat teams in so many different ways. The only reason why the Cleveland Indians are in the postseason is because of Jose Ramirez and a weak AL Central division. The pick: Houston in 3.
