Ben Simmons Triple Double Sparks 76ers over Bulls

After getting crushed the other night on the road against the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers wanted to do some home cooking in their home opener against the Chicago Bulls. Ben Simmons had a triple-double and it sparked the 76ers to a 127-108 victory.

Simmons finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, two blocks, and one steal. He had his way all game long against the Bulls defense. Joel Embiid had a double-double with 30 points 12 rebounds three assists, four blocks, and one steal.

Robert Convington scored 20 points. Dario Saric recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Markelle Fultz scored 12 points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded five assists.

Amir Johnson scored 13 points, grabbed three rebounds, and had one assist off the bench. J.J. Reddick also scored 10 points off the bench and Landry Shamet scored 12 points off the bench. T.J. McConnell scored four points off the bench.

Zach LaVine led the Chicago Bulls in scoring with 30 points. He also grabbed five rebounds, had three assists, and blocked three shots. Bobby Portis recorded a double-double for Chicago with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Justin Holiday scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.

Wendell Carter Jr. scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds, recorded three assists, and had one block in his NBA debut.

Antonio Blakeney and Jabari Parker each scored 15 points off the bench for the Bulls. Ryan Arcidiacono scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded eight assists off the bench for Chicago. Robin Lopez had two points, grabbed one rebound, recorded three assists, one block, and one steal.

The Chicago Bulls actually had a 41-38 lead after the first-quarter. After that period, they were outscored 89-67. Chicago's biggest lead in the game was six points and Philadelphia's biggest lead was 27 points.

These two teams will play each other two more times this season. The Chicago Bulls next game will be on Saturday night at home against the Detroit Pistons. The Philadelphia 76ers next game will be on Saturday night at home against the Orlando Magic.
