Cleveland Cavaliers Training Camp Preview

The Cleveland Cavaliers will feature a new era of basketball once again. Lebron James departed Cleveland once again this offseason and he signed a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Lebron did deliver one title to the city of Cleveland and he fulfilled his promise.

The fans were not mad that he left this time. Lebron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to four straight NBA Finals appearances and he has been in the finals eight straight seasons.

When James left the first time, everyone thought he wasn't coming back to Cleveland and Cavaliers fans were burning his jersey and they were showing frustration.

With Lebron James gone now, Kevin Love will be the main player on the roster. Love signed a four-year contract extension this offseason. He does have a history of injuries and that could derail his career quickly. As long as Love stays healthy, he should be an All-Star this upcoming season.

I thought they were going to trade Kevin Love and start over, but the Cleveland Cavaliers did not want to be in that spot again. The Cavaliers learned from the last time.

After Love, who will be the number two option? Could it be eighth overall pick Collin Sexton? The Cavaliers were able to draft him because they acquired the pick in the Isaiah Thomas trade. The 2018 first-round pick was originally the Brooklyn Nets pick and it was traded to the Boston Celtics in the Paul Pierce trade.

Sexton has the ability to be a star one day in the NBA. He plays good defense and he plays a relentless offensive style. Collin Sexton also has a killer instinct and it is one of the reasons why the University of Alabama beat Virginia Tech in the NCAA Tournament.

Could Cedi Osman have a breakout season? He has the potential to be very good. Osman is good defensively and he can score the basketball. Cedi Osman played in the summer league and he was outstanding.

A lot of people question whether or not Tyronn Lue can coach. A lot of people claimed that Lebron James was the coach but now that he isn't on the team anymore, Lue's coaching ability will be tested.

Potential starting five: © Tristan Thompson, (PF) Kevin Love, (SF) Cedi Osman, (SG) J.R. Smith, and (PG) Collin Sexton.

Key players off the bench: (SG) Kyle Korver, (PG) Jordan Clarkson, (C/PF) Larry Nance Jr., (F) Sam Dekker, and (PG) George Hill.

Shooting guard Rodney Hood is still unsigned. Dekker was acquired in a trade this past season offseason from the Los Angeles Clippers. Channing Frye is back in Cleveland after he was traded at the deadline last season to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Cleveland Cavaliers could be an eighth seed this season in the east, but they could also miss the postseason as well. It is unknown when the Cleveland Cavaliers will open up training camp. They will open the season at home on October 17 against the Toronto Raptors.
