Corey Coleman Traded to the Buffalo Bills

The Cleveland Browns continue to make changes to the roster before the 2018 season begins. They have traded wide receiver Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills for a late-round draft pick. This is an interesting move for both teams.

Buffalo got a good number two receiver to complement Kelvin Benjamin on the other side. The Bills are very thin at wide receiver. Cleveland must be convinced that Josh Gordon will be ready to go for Week one and I don't think they would have made this trade if they knew Gordon wasn't going to be ready.

Corey Coleman was a first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was the Cleveland Browns pick after they traded the number two overall pick to the Philadelphia Eagles that draft and it allowed the Eagles to draft Carson Wentz.

The Browns must be looking like fools right now for making that trade. This is why they have only won one game in the past two years and Philadelphia won the Super Bowl last season.

In nine games last season with the Cleveland Browns, he only caught 23 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns. Corey Coleman missed seven games for Cleveland because of a broken hand.

Coleman was going to be most likely the number three receiver with the Cleveland Browns along with Josh Gordon and Jarvis Landry. With Corey Coleman gone, the number three wide receiver spot will be up for grabs between Rashard Higgins, , Jeff Janis, and rookies Antonio Callaway and Damian Ratley.

Some of the other current Buffalo Bills wide receivers on the roster are Rod Streater, Jeremy Kerley, Zay Jones, and Brandon Reilly. That isn't necessarily something to boast about if you are the Buffalo Bills and that is why they made this trade.

The Bills will have someone can catch passes and be a game breaker on the outside. Coleman can also line up in the slot. The Buffalo Bills made it to the playoffs last season and they are looking to get back to the playoffs for the second straight season. Buffalo hasn't done that since the 1998-1999 regular season and the 1999-2000 postseason.

The Browns will be happy just to win a couple of games this season but with the additions they have made to the roster, Cleveland is hoping to win at least 5-8 games in the 2018 campaign, but it will be tough for them from the start. They face the Pittsburgh Steelers at home and the New Orleans Saints on the road the first two weeks of the regular season. The Cleveland Browns best chance to win a game for the first time since Christmas Eve of 2016 against the Los Angeles Chargers at home, is a home game against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football on September 20.
