Is Kyrie Irving Planning to Leave the Celtics?
The Boston Celtics are worried that Kyrie Irving will leave instead of resign with them. Should the Celtics be worried?
Entering Monday night, the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders only had one win on the year. Last Thursday night, the Oakland Raiders were demolished against the San Francisco 49ers 34-3. On Monday night, the New York Giants defeated the San Francisco 49ers 27-23 with 53 seconds remaining thanks to a 3-yard touchdown pass to Sterling Shepard from Eli Manning.
With this win for the New York Giants, does this show how bad the Oakland Raiders have been this season?
It absolutely does for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the Oakland Raiders do not have the offensive weapons the New York Giants have. Oakland wishes they had just one of those guys.
The second reason is whether you want to believe it or not, Pat Shurmur is a better coach than Jon Gruden is. The Giants have played hard for Shurmur all year long. They haven't really been blown out in any games, except for Week 6 at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Raiders have lost by double digits six times this season. It doesn't help when Oakland decided to trade Khalil Mack before the season began. Trading Amari Cooper didn't make sense either.
Another reason why the Giants are better is because they have a better defense. New York is ranked 22nd in the NFL and Oakland is ranked 27th in the NFL.
The Raiders have the 21st ranked offense in the NFL. The Giants have the 24th ranked offense in the NFL.
New York has scored 30 more points than Oakland has this season and New York has given up 44 fewer points.
The last reason the New York Giants are better than the San Francisco 49ers is because the Giants forced San Francisco 49ers Nick Mullens to make mistakes and the Raiders made him look like a hall of famer.
After this win, the New York Giants may not be a bottom five, but they are definitely a bottom 10 team.
