Is Kyrie Irving Planning to Leave the Celtics?
The Boston Celtics are worried that Kyrie Irving will leave instead of resign with them. Should the Celtics be worried?
Graham Gano drilled a 63-yard field goal as time expired and it lifted the Carolina Panthers to a 33-31 win over the New York Giants. There was some controversy as if running back Christian McCaffrey was stopped on a third-and-1. It looked as if he was stopped and then a lot of people thought it was fourth down and that is when Cam Newton spiked it.
It would have been the New York Giants football and game over. Instead, Newton spiked it on first down because McCaffrey did pick up the first down.
With the Carolina Panthers trailing 3-0 in the first-quarter, Cam Newton threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel. Samuel finished with two receptions for 37 yards receiving and a touchdown.
In the second-quarter, the Giants muffed a punt and Colin Jones recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown for Carolina.
With New York trailing 17-3, the Giants pulled out a bag of tricks as Odell Beckham Jr. threw a 57-yard touchdown pass to Saquon Barkley. It would open up the New York Giants offense up a little bit.
With Carolina leading 20-16 in the fourth-quarter, Cam Newton threw a 18-yard touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey finished with 58 yards rushing on 17 carries. He also caught five passes for 35 yards receiving and a touchdown. Newton completed 21-of-35 passes for 237 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Later in the fourth, Odell Beckham Jr. caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning (Rhett Ellison two-point conversion). Beckham Jr. finished with eight receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown, along with his 57-yard touchdown pass.
With the Giants trailing 30-24 in the fourth, Eli Manning threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Saquon Barkley. Barkley finished with 48 rushing yards on 15 carries. He also caught four passes for 81 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Manning completed 22-of-36 passes for 326 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for two yards on one carry.
The New York Giants (1-4) will host the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) on Thursday night. The Carolina Panthers (3-1) will travel to face the Washington Redskins (2-1) next Sunday.
