The Cleveland Cavaliers received some good news just hours before tip-off of game one of the 2018 NBA Finals. Kevin Love has been cleared from the NBA concussion protocol.

The news came down around 2p.m. eastern time in a release from the team.

Love was placed into the concussion protocol following Cleveland's game six victory in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics on May 25.

Love collided with Boston's Jayson Tatum in the first quarter of that game. Love missed the rest of game six and the deciding game seven victory in Boston.

Love is expected to be in the starting lineup Thursday night for game one of the NBA Finals against the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors. Game time is set for just after 9 p.m. eastern time, 6 p.m. on the west coast.

Cleveland enters the NBA Finals as heavy underdogs in the series. The Cavaliers are currently a 13-point underdog in game one. Perhaps the news of Love's return will change things in Las Vegas.
