Lakers Favorites to Land Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis won't be a free agent after the 2019-2020 season but he is till one of the most coveted players in the league. According to Odd Sharks, the Los Angeles Lakers are favorites to land him.

Odd Sharks is predicting that Davis will be traded before next season. Will Davis leave the Pelicans and try his luck elsewhere? Will the New Orleans Pelicans trade the best player they have ever had? These scenarios will be playing out soon.

If Davis doesn't agree to resign with the Pelicans, than he will be traded. The Lakers and the Boston Celtics will be ready to make offers for Davis because they are sold on him. It will be interesting to see what the asking price is going to be for Davis.

If the Lakers do get Davis, seeing him and a declining LeBron James will be insane. Those two players will cause a lot of havoc and create numerous highlights. Will the Pelicans let the Lakers become that good?

I think that the Pelicans can retain Davis if they get another superstar. He needs a second superstar to ease his burden. DeMarcus Cousins and Davis were a great tandem but Cousins ended up injured and missed the second half of the season.

Davis is only 25 years old and in his prime. Getting a player that skilled and young would make the Lakers the favorites to win the NBA Finals. That is why I don't think the Pelicans will trade him to the Lakers. That would be like handing the Lakers a championship.

Wherever Davis ends up, he will get paid. He has proven to everyone why he is an elite player and keeps on improving. Not many players can guard Davis and even less can impact a game like he can.
