NBA Top 10 Teams
The NBA season is about a month old. Who are the top 10 teams in the NBA up to date?
The NBA season officially starts tomorrow and teams were making last minute decisions. Here's what went down hours before the season starts.
The Indiana Pacers made the most noise by giving center Miles Turner an extension. He agreed to a four-year, $80 million extension on Monday. That is a lot of money but he has earned it. I am surprised he wasn't paid more considering how much players have been getting paid lately. This was a win for both parties.
Another player that also signed an extension was Larry Nance Jr. The Cleveland Cavaliers signed Nance Jr. to a four-year, $45 million extension. He played well last year and he was born and raised in Akron, Cleveland. His father also played for the Cavs so that history made resigning him an easy choice.
The Washington Wizards traded Jodie Meeks and a draft pick to the Milwaukee Bucks. This was a salary dump and both teams win. Meeks was suspended for using performance-enhancing drugs.
Lastly, the Los Angeles Clippers traded Wesley Johnson to the New Orleans Pelicans for Alexis Ajinca. Trading Johnson will save the Clippers some money (less than $1 million) which is sort of a win. Johnson is the last remaining player that was on the Clippers roster two years ago. That's the first time I have seen a franchise restart a team!
A big story that didn't happen is that the New York Knicks didn't sign Porzingis to an extension. Instead, the Knicks will redo his contract once it expires. He is expected to make a lot of money and is part of the Knicks plan to make a superteam next season.
