In WWE, the word ‘destruction’ and Braun Strowman are almost synonymous. This 6’8” giant weighing 385lbs is the most dominating force that the WWE possesses currently in its locker-room. There is hardly any superstar in the entire WWE who has the strength and potential to defeat Braun Strowman in a one-on-one match. Strowman has defeated almost every possible wrestler who stood against him in any form of competition. Braun Strowman is the undisputed face of WWE and is an absolute fan favorite. Let us understand why he is the best wrestler that WWE has at the moment.
Braun Strowman’s career has seen a lot of ups and downs. Initially, he never enjoyed the success he deserved when he was a member of the Wyatt Family (televised narrative). He was cited by critics as someone who had the potential, but WWE failed to cast his much-deserved impact. However, things took a drastic U-turn in 2016, when he left the Wyatt Family (as a part of the WWE Draft) and got shifted to RAW to compete in singles’ competition.
Week after week, Braun Strowman demolished wrestlers of various sizes and ability. The list includes, but is not limited to Sami Zayn, James Ellsworth, Sin Cara, Kevin Owens (the then Universal Champion) and many others. He had an amazing run in the tag-team competitions also. In the end, it was Roman Reigns, who defeated Strowman at the Fastlane PPV on 5th March 2016, thus marking Strowman’s first loss via pinfall.
Strowman also has the unique agility and unbelievable power. He had the audacity to perform a Suplex on the Big Show from the top of the turnbuckle. This lead to a massive collision and ultimately the ring succumbed and the entire stage collapsed. The impact was so colossal in nature, that Big Show was unable to stand on his feet post the action. Braun Strowman on the contrary stood comfortably on his feet and his hands were held high up in the air.
Strowman has also several other unique feats on his resume to speak about. He was a participant in the Royal Rumble match at the Greatest Royal Rumble PPV in Saudi Arabia. He entered at the 41st position and went on to win the match. This match was a history in itself, as it comprised of 50 wrestlers and was the biggest Royal Rumble match in the history of professional pro-wrestling. Strowman eliminated 13 men and eventually won the contest by last eliminating Big Cass. He made the most number of eliminations in that match and survived nearly 23 minutes.
He also surprised the entire WWE Universe, when he won the Tag Team Championship from Cesaro and Sheamus at WrestleMania 34. He single-handedly bulldozed both these wrestlers (as his tag team partner was a school kid and not a professional wrestler) and won the Tag Team Gold for the first time in his career. However, as his partner was not a legitimate wrestler, they were forced to relinquish their championship.
However, WWE has not yet given him his ultimate due. He should be given a push for the World Championship. At present, Brock Lesnar is the current Universal Champion. WWE is yet to designate a worthy opponent for his Championship match. They have repeatedly tried Roman Reigns. However, Reigns have not been able to rise to the occasion. Despite, multiple attempts, Reigns have failed to snatch the belt from Lesnar’s waist. Hence, without a doubt, Braun Strowman should become the undisputed number one contender for the Universal Championship. If Braun wins the title, he has the ability to become the greatest Champion the WWE Universe has ever witnessed. This will make him a larger than life superstar in the WWE.
Therefore, in light of the above facts, there is not an iota of doubt that Braun Strowman has proven time and again, why he is the guy who has the entire WWE roster under his control. Fans across the globe chant his catchphrase ‘get these hands’ like religious phrases. His ability to build outstanding promos, to connect with the fans, and his wrestling skills, has set him apart from any other wrestler that either RAW, SmackDown or NXT possesses. Thus, Braun Strowman is the greatest wrestler in the WWE today.
