NBA First Half Awards
With the season just over halfway done, let's look at the major awards. Feel free to disagree but it's James Hardens world right now and we're just living in it.
The Baltimore Ravens defense was ferocious from the opening kickoff until the very end on Sunday afternoon against the Tennessee Titans on the road. Baltimore's defense recorded 11 sacks which is a franchise record and the Ravens won 21-0.
Za'Darius Smith had three sacks and Patrick Onwuasor had two sacks for Baltimore. Matthew Judon, Terrell Suggs, Tony Jefferson, Kenny Young, Anthony Levine, and Chris Wormley each had one sack.
In the first-quarter, Joe Flacco threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree. Crabtree finished with nine receptions for six receptions for 93 yards receiving and a touchdown. Flacco completed 25-of-37 passes for 238 yards one touchdown and one interception.
In the second-quarter, Alex Collins scored on a 13-yard touchdown run for the Ravens. He would also score on a 2-yard touchdown run in the third-quarter for Baltimore. Collins finished with 54 rushing yards on 19 carries and two scores.
Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Alex Lewis was carted off the field in the fourth-quarter after injuring his neck. He was taken to a local hospital and Lewis is feeling movement in all of his extremities.
The Tennessee Titans didn't get much offense going in the game. They had a tough time moving the football. Tennessee didn't pick up many first downs.
Marcus Mariota completed 10-of-15 passes for 117 yards. He was the team's leading rusher with 25 yards on two carries. Derrick Henry continues to struggle as he rushed for 21 yards on seven carries.
Tajae Sharpe was the Tennessee Titans leading receiver with two receptions for 33 yards receiving. They did not sack Joe Flacco once.
The Baltimore Ravens (4-2) will host the New Orleans Saints (4-1) next Sunday. The Tennessee Titans (3-3) will be the road team against the Los Angeles (4-2) next Sunday in London.
