The group stage was full of drama, upsets, VAR awarded goals penalties and stunning upsets. So can the round of 16 top that? The round of 16 is dominated by European and South American teams, with only one North American and Asian team advancing. So can Mexico and Japan pull off stunning upsets against Brazil and Belgium? The last three World Cups have been won by European teams so will the trend continue or can a South American team go home with the trophy in a European hosted World Cup?
