NBA First Half Awards
With the season just over halfway done, let's look at the major awards. Feel free to disagree but it's James Hardens world right now and we're just living in it.
It seemed as if the Cincinnati Bengals were going to need one stop to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers and end their six-game skid against them. The officials gave the Steelers a favorable defensive holding call against the Bengals and it set Pittsburgh up in better field position.
On a third down, Antonio Brown caught a slant route and took it for a 31-yard touchdown (JuJu Smith-Schuster) with 10 seconds remaining to lift the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 28-21 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. It appeared as if wide receiver Justin Hunter was blocking down field before Brown caught the pass.
Brown finished with five receptions for 105 yards receiving and a touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger completed 32-of-46 passes for 369 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for -1 yards on one carry.
JuJu Smith-Schuster was the Pittsburgh Steelers leading receiver with seven receptions for 111 yards receiving.
In the first-quarter, Andy Dalton threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd for the Cincinnati Bengals.
James Conner would score on two 1-yard touchdown runs in the second-quarter for Pittsburgh. He finished with 111 rushing yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns. James Conner also caught four passes for 18 yards receiving.
Right before halftime, Tyler Boyd caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Andy Dalton later in the second-quarter. Boyd caught seven passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns. A.J. Green was the Bengals leading receiver with five receptions for 87 yards receiving.
Andy Dalton completed 26-of-42 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
With the Bengals trailing 20-14 in the fourth, Joe Mixon scored on a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth-quarter with 1:18 remaining in regulation. Mixon finished with finished with 64 yards rushing on 11 carries and a score. He also caught four receptions for 20 yards receiving.
The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1) will host the Cleveland Browns (2-3-1) next on Sunday October 28 because they have a bye next week. The Cincinnati Bengals will be on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) next Sunday night.
