Is Kyrie Irving Planning to Leave the Celtics?
The Boston Celtics are worried that Kyrie Irving will leave instead of resign with them. Should the Celtics be worried?
The Los Angeles Chargers survived on the road against the Seattle Seahawks 25-17. The Houston Texans survived on the road against the Denver Broncos 19-17.
Los Angeles is now 6-2 on the year. Houston has now won six in a row and their record is 6-3 on the year.
At the beginning of the season, I predicted the Houston Texans would play the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Title Game. A lot of others thought it would be the Pittsburgh Steelers vs the New England Patriots again.
As of right now, the AFC is top heavy and it is going to be very exciting come playoff time. The top five teams in the AFC show no signs of slowing down. The Houston Texans lead the AFC South, the Pittsburgh Steelers lead the AFC North with a 5-2-1 record, the New England Patriots lead the AFC East with a 6-2 record, and the Kansas City Chiefs lead the AFC West with a 8-1 record.
The Chargers currently hold the number five seed in the AFC and they are playing like a division leader right now. The only games they have lost all season is against the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. They are both 8-1 and will play each in Week 11 on Monday night in Mexico City.
Any one of those five teams have a real strong case to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl come February in Atlanta.
Whoever the sixth seed will be in the AFC, they will probably be over matched to these teams. The Cincinnati Bengals currently hold that spot with a 5-3 record. The Miami Dolphins sit in seventh in the AFC with a 5-4 record. Miami doesn't own the tiebreaker against Cincinnati because they lost the head-to-head match up.
The Baltimore Ravens sit in eighth in the AFC with a 4-5 record. If none of those three teams I mentioned makes it, keep an eye on the Indianapolis Colts throughout the rest of the season. They have a favorable schedule down the stretch and they could make a run. Andrew Luck is having a great first season back from injury under new Head Coach Frank Reich.
Everyone talked about how good the NFC was entering this season, but the AFC looks locked and loaded right now. Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Houston, New England, and Los Angeles should be locks for the postseason. Cincinnati, Miami, Baltimore, or Indianapolis will be the sixth seed in the AFC.
