NBA First Half Awards
With the season just over halfway done, let's look at the major awards. Feel free to disagree but it's James Hardens world right now and we're just living in it.
The Cincinnati Bengals will finish in last place in the AFC North for the 2018 NFL Season. With the 26-18 loss on Sunday afternoon against the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati was swept by Cleveland this season.
The last time the Bengals finished in last in the AFC North was the 2010 season with a 4-12 record. Cincinnati has a ton of talent on this roster and it is all going to waste. They must move on from Marvin Lewis at the end of this season. He hasn't even won one playoff game with this team.
The Cincinnati Bengals have missed the playoffs for the last three seasons. The Cleveland Browns are on the rise for a reason. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens will be around for a while.
If the Bengals don't get a new voice inside the locker room after this season, what this means for this franchise is that this team doesn't care. Cincinnati will also finish in the basement in the AFC North standings for years to come as well.
This team has had injuries to players like quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver A.J. Green this season, but it is no excuse for this team to be playing this poorly. They also have a couple of key players on defense like Carlos Dunlap and Vontaze Burfict, but the Cincinnati Bengals have one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
The Cincinnati Bengals need to hire someone that will discipline this team. A few names that come to mind is Michigan Head Coach Jim Harbaugh, former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator Matt, LaFleur, and Kansas City Chiefs Special Teams Coordinator Dave Toub. The odds are that the Bengals may not fire anybody after this season because they settle for mediocrity.
Signing Lewis to that two-year contract extension last offseason was a mistake. They should have moved on from him after the 2016 postseason when they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cincinnati was hoping to get back to the playoffs this season and it proved out to be another failure for them.
