Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire: June 24
Heading into the final week of June, here are my five latest fantasy baseball waiver wire adds.
The Milwaukee Bucks will sign 28-year-old guard Brandon Jennings to a 10-day contract. He played seven games this season with the Bucks G-League Affiliate Wisconsin Herd. He was drafted by the Bucks 10th overall back in the 2009 NBA Draft.
Jennings played well for the Herd scoring 21.4 points, 7.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds. the Herd went 3-4 in those seven games.
Starting his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, the point guard made transitions to different teams in his basketball career. He played four seasons with the Bucks and was then traded to the Detroit Pistons where he played three seasons.
After Detroit, He's been on three teams in a little over a season. He had small stints with the Orlando Magic (2016), New York Knicks (2016-2017) and Washington Wizards (2017).
Jennings is a journeyman. When he was in high school at Oak Hill Academy, he committed to Arizona. He decided to bypass college and go play overseas in Italy for Virtus Roma. After his small stint in Washington, he signed a 1-year, $1.5M deal to play in China for the Shanxi Brave Dragons. He averaged 27.8 points, 6.8 assists and 2.7 steals in 13 games played. He was waived by the team on December 9, 2017.
In his early career, Jennings was at his best in his NBA career. In 2011-12 season, Jennings put a career best 19.1 points and 1.6 steals per game. He scored 4,946 points in his first stint with the Bucks.
Jennings will play behind starting point guard Eric Bledsoe. Other guards like Matthew Dellavedova (ankle) and Malcolm Brogden (torn quad tendon) are out with injuries. Their other back up guard is Jason Terry who is 40-years old and is really only a perimeter threat in this stage in his career.
In 541 NBA games, Jennings averaged 14.3 points, 5.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals in 30.8 minutes played.
The Bucks currently hold the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference at 35-31.
