Joel Embiid Should be Considered an MVP Candidate
It is only January and a lot of people are talking about either James Harden or Giannis Antetokounmpo to win the MVP, but what about Joel Embiid?
WWE Extreme Rules is on July 15, 2018 and it is looking like a good match card. Several titles will be on the line and it is the final PPV before SummerSlam. Some of the matches listed below are not confirmed as of now but are expected to take place. I will predict the outcome of each match set on the card but of course the card is subject to change.
Finn Balor vs Baron Corbin
These two have had quite the feud on Raw and on Twitter in some very funny exchanges. They will look to end their feud at Extreme Rules. Finn Balor will make Baron Corbin look good in the ring as Balor is a great in-ring performer. I think Balor needs this win and will look to get back in the Universal Championship picture. I predict Balor will beat Corbin.
Prediction: Finn Balor wins the match
Carmella (c) vs. Asuka (SmackDown Women’s Championship)
James Ellsworth returned at Money In The Bank and helped Carmella retain against Asuka but Paige has made a rematch at Extreme Rules. You can almost guarantee Ellsworth will interfere in the match and try and help Carmella again. There is no way Carmella can defeat Asuka without help from Ellsworth. I think Carmella sneaks a win with the help from Ellsworth and retains the title.
Prediction: Carmella wins and retains her SmackDown Women’s Championship
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Nia Jax Extreme Rules match (Raw Women’s Championship)
Nia Jax will invoke her rematch clause at Extreme Rules and challenge Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Title. These two have already had two PPV matches together that have not gone very well. I do not expect this match to be any better as they do not have much chemistry together in the ring. I predict Alexa Bliss winning this match and will fight Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam for the Raw Women’s Title.
Prediction: Alexa Bliss wins and retains her Raw Women’s Championship
The Deleters of Worlds (c) vs. The B-Team (Raw Tag Team Championship)
Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas (The B-Team) won a tag team battle royal to earn a shot at the Raw Tag Team Titles and they are finally getting their chance at Extreme Rules. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt make for an interesting team and are pretty over with the fans. I can see them holding the titles heading to SummerSlam and should beat the B-Team in what will be a pretty good match.
Prediction: Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy win and retain their Raw Tag Team Championships
The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. Team Hell No (SmackDown Tag Team Championship)
In one of the more exciting moments in WWE recently, Kane helped his former friend Daniel Bryan as he was being attacked by The Bludgeon Brothers and Team Hell No is back together. Team Hell No is over like crazy with the fans and I am excited for this match. If any team can defeat The Bludgeon Brothers, it is DB and Kane. I can see Kane and DB together for a bit and win the Tag Titles at Extreme Rules.
Prediction: Team Hell No win and become new SmackDown Tag Team Champions
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Seth Rollins Iron Man Match (Intercontinental Championship)
Dolph Ziggler beat Seth Rollins for the IC Title on Raw in what was a surprise. They had a rematch on Raw the following week but was interrupted by Drew McIntyre and then Roman Reigns came to help Rollins. This match could be the match of the night as these two put on a terrific performance twice on Raw and Extreme Rules will be no different. I think Ziggler will win the match and retain his title with the help of McIntyre.
Prediction: Dolph Ziggler wins and retains
Jeff Hardy (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura (US Championship)
This match was supposed to take place on SmackDown but Nakamura got bit by a dog the day before and had to cancel the match. Yes, an actual police dog bit him the day before. This will be a good match as both usually put on a great performance. I think Nakamura needs this win after losing to Styles and Jeff Hardy is suffering from some injuries according to reports. I can see Hardy missing some time and losing the title.
Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura wins and becomes new US Champion
Braun Strowman vs Kevin Owens Steel Cage match
These two have really been great in segments together on Raw. There may not be a better comedic heel than Kevin Owens and the way him and Strowman play off each other is great. This will be an interesting match but I don’t see Kevin Owens having a chance but these are two of my favorites in WWE right now. Strowman should win this match but this is a good upgrade in feuds for KO and I hope he is booked correctly in the future. He is special and so is Strowman.
Prediction: Braun Strowman wins the match
Roman Reigns vs Bobby Lashley
This will be a number one contender match for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship at SummerSlam. Both guys are not over with fans and this could be one of those boo festivals the fans usually give during Reigns’ matches. Lashley has not had the impact the WWE was anticipating with his return and he is not over at all. Reigns will win this match and go on to face Lesnar for the title at SummerSlam but we can only hope Strowman saves the night and cashes in at SummerSlam to become new Universal Champion.
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins the match and is the number one contender
AJ Styles (c) vs. Rusev (WWE Championship)
Rusev won a gauntlet match on SmackDown Live to become number one contender for the WWE Championship. This match will be a good one and the fans will have mixed chants of AJ Styles and Rusev Day. Unlike Lesnar, Styles has been a fighting champion and shows what a real champion should be. Styles finally ended his feud with Shinsuke Nakamura at Money In The Bank defeating him in a Last Man Standing match to retain his title. I think Styles will win this match and head to SummerSlam as the WWE Champion.
Prediction: AJ Styles wins and retains his WWE Championship
